Here are some questions that explore the inspiration behind the work.
Name something you love, and why. 1980’s music. It accepts you and let’s you in wherever you’re at. You can bounce, shout, jump around, do whatever you want to it. It holds you in a space.
Favourite or most inspirational place? St Ives. The light is pure, honest and penetrates every open space. You cannot escape yourself or your feelings. Everything comes to the surface and is raw.
What wouldn’t you do without? Rose quartz. Calm, peaceful, mediative, healing stone.
What does “being creative” mean to you? Connecting to others. What kind of creative patterns, routines or rituals do you have? What are you trying to communicate with your art?
Can you describe the time when you first realised that creating was something you absolutely had to do? Listening to the Male Chorus open in a local production of the Mikado. The power, the intensity and the drama swept me up.
